Conversion of a
Classroom Course
to Online Format

It is becoming increasingly common to convert courses traditionally taught in university classrooms to an online format. For EdPsy 399 EA, I helped the instructor to narrate and convert PowerPoint lectures for online delivery, helped her assistant with converting videotaped interviews of content experts, and provided students with the largest files and necessary software on a CD-ROM with links to online course content.

Computer-Assisted
Language Learning

As I began to make my teaching materials available on the Internet, I found they were in high demand. This led to eventual development of a Computer-Assisted Language Learning CD-ROM which I marketed and sold by the hundreds at regional and national workshops. News of my success spread, and soon I was delivering CALL workshops to Japanese teachers of English as well.

Teaching Assistants' Resource CD-ROM
for Content Area Applications of
Educational Technology

I developed this CD-ROM to help novice teaching assistants with instructing undergraduate student teachers at UIUC's College of Education Instructional Computing Laboratories. For the "Creating an ePortfolio" segment, I have provided instructors with a 467 slide step-by-step PowerPoint presentation that walks students through the process of creating and publishing a Web site. The "Creating Instructional PowerPoints" section of the CD contains detailed information for creating interactive multimedia slideshows and publishing on the Web.

  CTER's 2002
Pre-Orientation
CD-ROM

The deliverable for this labor intensive project was a CD-ROM with pre-orientation activities designed to make sure that new CTER students have checked their system settings and installed all the software and plug-ins they will need to access course content during the next two years with the program.

For the Windows version of this CD, I designed everything except the Javascript detection of plugins and system settings.
